I've been told the metal lip behind my stock sideskirts is the place where I'm supposed to jack up my car, but everytime we do it there the lip bends. Is there a better place to jack it? Post pics if possible.

I've lifted the rear end by the differential before...as for the front end, I'm not sure. I always just use that lip you're talking about.

what kinda of jack do you have?if using a floor jack....lift the front by the crossmember and the rear by the diff. the stock jack has a slot in it to fit on those side rails, but dont put a flat floor jack on them. the fsm also says not to put stands under the frame rails, but instead put them on the side rails.if you need a pic i can put one up from the fsm.

You don't lift by the lip; you lift by the flat area to the inside and outside of the lip. If you look at the factory jack, it has a slot which the lip fits into and lifts by the areas around the lip. If you are using another jack lift by the flat area inside of the lip and you should be ok.

Im with ya on the frame rails one. The Chilton book recommended to use the "frame rails" as support points. According to the factory service manual you are not supposed to support the vehicle on those very same "side members".Eh, live and learn. Lately i have been supporting the car by the flattest spots i can find on the suspension mounts. I figure that if the car is supported by the suspension, the mounts should be more than strong enough to support the car.
