hello, I have been trying to get my car to drive and idle correcty for about 3 weeks now. it is a 96 head and block and every thing else is from the 91. I was going to just use the 96 cams but I broke the exhaust cam reomving it from the engine so I just used my 91 cams, and when I was messing with it I decided for some stupid reason to put in my s14 intake cam and use my s13 exhaust cam. I have been able to drive it and it idles alright but still seems to lack power and still idle rough. I am not getting any backfires coming from the intake but it still has a loupy sound coming from the exhaust cam and tail pipe. I am getting around 16hg with a vaccum gauge. were as it should be around 20hg so I still think something is wrong with timing. could it be because of the diffent year cams? I know they have different lobes but is it enough to cause a problem like mine? I am very sure that I do not have a vaccum leak and I will be replacing my egr soon because I think that might be causeing it. also when I rebuilt the engine I had a 3 angle valve job done to it and put in new exhaust valves. does the new valve job mable need time to seat? please let me know!! thanks

I just installed a new egr valve it it runs really good now. it still dies at a stop when under load. only under a load though. could this be the iacv valve? and how do you test it? I have power going to it which is connected to the aac solenoid. is that the only one that receives power? also has any one ever adjusted the bolt that is covered in epoxy that is above the idle screw? thanks
