So, $140 later (dealership/tow fees), the car is back in my yard. Yesterday I took the cams out and removed the heat shield over the exhaust manifold. I only had an hour before work and felt as though I should at least do something.
This morning will be spent dismanteling the car further. The service manager at Nissan seemed pretty confident that my pistons and cylinder walls should be fine. He thinks I can get away with just replacing the valves, which is what I'm hoping is the case. I have an Altima engine from which I could take valves, so if all I have to do is that, my car should be back up and running within a week. I hope. I still need to source another '91 exhaust cam, but other than that....
So, that's the update on my car, in case anyone was wondering.
Oh, and my plans for the 240 are now as follows.... Once it's back up and running again, I'll buy a header for it as soon as I can afford one, and then I'll be done with the car.
I/H/E/cams/Eibachs will make for a lovely daily driver to compliment the 10th Anniversary RX-7 TurboII that I'll be bringing home soon.
