I've read several times that the stock internals on the sr20det are good up to about 300 hp, and I was wondering what internals need to be replaced/upgraded after that. I'm looking into buying an s14 sr20 and a 95/96 240, and want to upgrade the engine internals before putting it in the car, as I intend to do maintenance and preventives before doing any performance upgrades at all. Could anyone list some or all of the items to replace? So far I've heard to get a metal head gasket and replace the driveshaft with a carbon fiber one...any other suggests? Thanks =)

It's been discussed a lot (helpful hint: try search on more common questions such as this) But if you want to hit some high horsepower then pistons, and rods are a good place to start upgrading...if your going to be over 400hp regularly you might want to resleeve the block too. There are a few other tricks like cryotreating you could do for your crank, block, etc. You could also shotpeen your factory rods (they are allready quite sturdy and this would help even more)
