I just recently finished putting leds and replacement bulbs in my interior and there is not too much info out there for an s14. So I want to share some information. I got most of the leds from superbrightleds.com, I got the 31mm festoon from ebay. For the gauge cluster I used the cool white leds.

List of LED bulbs and quantity used:
1 - 31mm festoon Led for the Dome light
4 - #194 led for the gauges and the battery light
14 - #74 led for the clock and the symbols (brights,cruise,overdrive,seatbelt icon,etc)
The 14 #74 leds is to replace every symbol bulb. So if you dont habe overdrive, cruise, etc subtract the bulbs not needed.

Normal bulbs:
7 - Radioshack #272-1092 for the climate control, defroster, hazard, and dimmer lights. (They come in packs of two, their on radioshacks website and also in store in the "flashlight bulb" drawer.)

Nice parts list! I need to replace the old dome light in my miata with an LED. That joker gets HOT, which isn't pleasant when I graze it while closing the top.

I don't suppose you have the pictures/memory to do a write up on how to change out everything you did, do you?

I had the same problem when doing my dome light. It only works on the setting where it turns on when the doors are open.. yeah I can give details from memory, its not too hard looking back on it honestly.

Replacing the lights:

Dome light:
This is the easiest light to replace, turn the light switch to off, take a flat head screw driver, pry off the plastic cover to the light, then remove the bulb. (Be careful not to burn yourself if thenlight has been on for a while) Once the bulb is out, take the 31mm festoon led and insert it the same as the old one was. Turn the switch to on, if it doesnt light up, remove the bulb and rotate it 180 degrees, reinsert it and try again. Put the plastic cover back on ans your done.

Dimmer switch:
Take a screwdriver and unscrew the two screws holding the gauge trim on, pull on the trim a little and the clips will pop, unplug the dimmer switch and remove the trim. Take the switch and press on the tabs, pull the switch apart and you can see the bulb, pull it off of the holder, note the way the wires are wound around the rubber, pull the bulb out, take the new radioshack bulb and insert it the same way the old bulb was. Put the switch back together and your done.

Defroster and hazard:
These are basically the same as the dimmer switch process, pull the vent trim off, then press the tabs on the switches and remove them from the trim. Pry on the tabs on sides and top and pull the switch apart. Replace the bulb the same way you did the dimmer. The only difference is the defroster takes two bulbs. Put them back together and reinsert into the trim.

Climate control:
With the vent trim off, unscrew the 4 screws holding the climate control box in place, pull it out and unhook the 3 plugs on the back. Take the box and remove the cover on the back, you will then see a brown electric board. I took a pair of needle nose pliers and squeezed on the 3 white/clear clips in order to move the brown board out of the way. With that out of the way you can see the green board housing the 3 lights. Two of them you can see clearly, twist them and pull them out. The other one you have to pry on the black fam control area to the left of green board. Pry on the tabs and it takes a good amount of effort but eventually the knob will pop off the front. Pull black piece out of inside and you can see the other bulb, twist and remove it. Replace the bulbs the same as the defrost, hazard, and dimmer lights. Put everything back together and you can plug it back in and reinstall your trim.

Gauge cluster:
*To make it easy on yourself, have your climate control, hazard, defroster, dimmer all plugged in!! If any are unplugged the gauges light up the wrong way. I learned this and had all the bulbs upside down when i plugged everything in they didnt light up. So i had to flip them all over*
With the trim piece off, unscrew the 3 screws holding the gauges in, pull the cluster out and you can leave it plugged in, rotate it and you can see the bulb housings on the back. There are 3 large red housings that light up the main cluster. Twidt them and remove them. Pull the bulbs out of housings, and insert the #194 leds into the housings, reinsert them where they went previously. There is also a large blue housing which lights up the battery icon, do the same to it and replace with a #194 led. Now the rest of the lights are all #74, depending on what all bulbs your cluster actually uses, twist the plastic bulb housing, pull it out, pull thenbulb out, insert the #64 led. Reinsert the housing and repeat for all the other small housings.
*Now once you finish replacing every bulb, insert key in ignition, turn to where electrionics are on.. and turn your headlights on. There will probably be a decent amount of dark areas, this is because some of the bulbs are upside down. Simply take the bulbs that arent lighting up and turn them 180 degrees and try again. Once they are all lighting up your finished. Reinstall the cluster, screw it back in, put the dimmer and trim back in andnput everything back together.

Theres the dome light above the back seats, what about the one up front above center console? Thanks!

Im not sure on that.. im the 2nd owner of my car and the lady I got it from had a aftermarket sunroof put in.. so mine doesnt have map lights. I would suggest seeing what size bulb is in the map lights. Id compare them to the dome light and go from there. Their probably 31mm festoons as well but I dont know for sure.

I dont think so. I think it looks pretty good. The climate control, dimmer, hazard, and defroster are all dim.. Those all are using the radioshack bulbs though
I will be going to leds for those at a later date.

Just got my package with the rest of the leds yesterday.. and installed most of them.. just want to point out that the air bag bulb is different so I didnt mess with it. And the seat belt light wont work if you put a led in it... (it is very dark and flashes, doesnt turn off even if your buckled) so I left that with the old bulb.. found out the blinkers take the #74 bulb as well so I replaced those and they look good. And right now the Gas Light is questionable, its never lit up before and now its on. Not sure if its the same problem as the seat belt light or what.. its low on gas though, guess I wont know for sure until I get more gas.. a month from now probably.. lol.

(Car has been sitting in the garage for quite a while.. waiting to find a bumper and fog lights in order to finish the jdm kouki conversion)
