Im looking for a new car insurance company in NJ since i moved back from FL. Fl insurance is mad cheap compared to NJ insurance i use to pay 250 every 2 months down there, and i was checking geico for a quote and it would be $5,300+ for only 6 months thats with full coverage. does any body who lives here know of any other company with lower rates?

The car will be under my name and i am 19

You're going to have to do a lot of leg work to try to find a decent price. There are too many variables in insurance rating to just say "go with Company A, they're cheap!"

Do some quotes online, or find an independent insurance agent who represents multiple companies. They may know a company to place you with that's a good fit for you as far as price goes.

I work in the insurance industry and I have complete and total sympathy for people who live in NJ and have to pay those rates. The state's a damn mess as far as insurance goes.

If you've got some ummm...activity on your record and you live in a part of the state that's particularly expensive, it may not be possible to get a rate that's liveable. Still, do some legwork and see if you can find a deal.

I pay $212/month in insurance on my S14. It's better than the $345/month I was paying with my WRX.

And get this: NO TICKETS (well, not until last week anyway, but that isn't affecting my premiums yet).

I do have one totaled, at-fault car under my belt though.

$212/month is with Liberty Mutual.

I'm on 100/300/100 in terms of coverage, $500 deductible (required by credit union). This is with the 10% discount by being a U. Pitt alumni. 22 yrs old.

Type X: What's your car year/coverage level/age/driving record, etc..? I'd love to be paying $90/month.
