s14 hood release cable routing...where is the route?

i need to know where to route the hood release cable, ive tried many different routes but they all fall about 2-3 inches short of the hood release. can someone show me a picture of the proper route?

behind the fender liner in the wheel well kinda. It's tucked up there.

i tried behind the finder liner, then through the opening near the airbox. still was short of the hood latch

hmm did you try getting some tension on the metal wire on the inside of the cable sheathing? are you also using the right part? did you compare it to your original?

ya, i pulled on the wire as much as i could.

are you also using the right part?

its the factory part, i pulled the hood release and can see the metal wire inside sliding in and out.

did you compare it to your original?i bought the car with front end damage, i just started replacing parts and the radiator/core support so i don't know how it originally comes together.

how much slack is there on your cable?

I've an s13 but I've done more than my fair share on s14's. There should be an inch or two of slack on the cable from the end of the sheathing.

the fsm doesnt show anything about the hood cable

ok, i found out the problem. i was using an s14 radiator/core support i bought from a jdm importer. turns out that the hood cable is switched to the other side and the hood latch is actually switched too. luckly i had the original hood latch and it finally worked. thanks
