There's 2 wires coming out of the upper plug... cut them and solder them together I believe is what they mean. It's only been 6 months since I did it so I think I remember it correctly

Its the top plug (Inhibitor switch) its the only (2) wire plug of the (4) plugscut the 2 wires on the transmission side and solider them together.

You can check out my 5 Speed Swap DVD too - it has tons of useful info you might would like to know before you start or finish your swap.

No the auto transmission speed sensor will not even go into the hole on the 5 speed transmission - its too thick - and the mounting hole is on the wrong side

If you have a s14 chassis you need a s14 speed sensor (almost impossable to find / very expensive - and most will try to sell you the auto speed sensor) - They look different and differnt size - its all on the DVD

If you have s13 chassis - you need a s13 speed sensor (easy to find / cheap)

not sure what you have in the hole right now? but if there is no sensor in the hole transmission fluid will pour out of it!

The speed sensor is located at the back of the transmission on the passenger side - its the last sensor on the transmission - pretty much right below the shifter plate.

the s13 and s14 sensors are different as well and you can not use one for the other as far as the s13 to s14 chassis and vice versa

the s14 5 speed sensor is black plastic and plug is ontop - but so is the auto

if you have a 5 speed transmission in your car with a speed sensor in it already - its obviously the 5 speed sensor

the s13 VSS are silver with the wire attached to them
