Ok so once again I need some other peoples opinion about my problem Im faced with. Ok well right now I still have the stock motor/trans in my 95 s14 and my clutch is just starting to slip under heavy throttle in 4th gears and sometimes in 2nd and I really need to replace it because im going to be driving it back down to my house in GA and leaving it there for a year while im deployed to Afghanistan. Well right now I have a OEM clutch disk sitting in my house that I could use, But since im leaving in about 3 months I plan on doing some "spirited" driving :chuckle: and dont think that an Autozone OEM clutch can handle it. But Ive been really thinking about buying a spec stage 3 kit along with their flywheel to handle my "spirited" driving before I deploy. But I have full intentions on buying s14 SR swap when I come back and I really dont think spending that kinda money on clutch kit and flywheel would be cost effective for only 3 months just to swap in a SR. I wanna know what you guys think cause I plan on doing this next weekend, so any input on this welcomed.

I was kind of in that same situation. I needed a new clutch because mine in all gears slipped. I was debating on a Nismo R-Tune but it is way too pricey since i plan on going SR anyways. So i bought an exedy oem one and ive had no problem so far, i get on it and all is good. However it all depends on how "spirited" you will be driving lol :yesnod

Well I mean im not gonna be spinning tires every red light, but since I wont be able to drive a car much less my 240 for 50 weeks out of the year, I do plan on getting a little nasty with it (powerbrakes, drifts ect.). I was thinking about getting that exedy oem clutch like you have, How does that clutch feel? Is there a specific break-in mileage fro it?

I did the exact thing you are talking about doing, my factory clutch was on its way out and I knew I was going to be ditching the the ka within a few months, so I got the exedy oem replacement, its just a little over $100 and it will handle anything the stock ka can put out.

Break in will be like any clutch, be easy on it for about 500 miles before you start to thrash it.

LOL @ stage 3 clutch on stocker KA!! You'd be better off just doing some calf raises! Good call on the Exedy OE replacement, I have read nothing but good things about it.
