S14 Gauge cluster MPH problem

my MPH gauge is not running accurate like when im driving around 30 its showing 60 do i need a new gauge cluster or something wrong with the speed sensor any info would be great [email protected]

weird..if it's a compatability thing you could get an SGI from dakotadigital.com. thats how i got my S15 SS to read right on my S14 cluster.

i didnt change the cluster its OEM so compatability is not a problem i think

go to a shop that adjusts speedometers.

If all is stock sounds like you got an incorrect speed sensor... but you should be getting a fuel cut around 85 - 90 mph with it off that far.

If it's not fuel cutting on you then look into a new gauge cluster.

yea i would get fuel cut so speed sensor is the problem?

You could fix it yourself... not that difficult really. All you need is a good pair of plyers and some patience.

Obtain a new speed sensor from a junkyard car.

where is the speed sensor located at? is it around clutch operating cylinder

I'd suggest getting an FSM, the speed sensorplugs into the side of the gearbox. The highest sensor by the shifter is the neutral sensor. The one below it should be the speed sensor on your car. It's fairly large compared to the others.
