How many Fuel filters do the S14 have?

it seems like some vehicles have two fuel filters. One in the engine bay and one in the gas tank. From what i understand, it only has one and that's in the engine bay....am i correct on this?

Well, I've been having some engine hesitation as of late. These are the symtoms of my vehicle and i've concluded that its the Fuel Filter.

Quote »Engine Hesitation 1. A bad fuel filter can cause an engine to hesitate, or stumble, if the filter restricts the flow of fuel into a vehicle's engine. Engine Stalling 2. The main cause of engine stalling is a sudden break in fuel flow to the engine, a condition that often occurs when a fuel filter becomes blocked with debris and/or sediments and stops fuel from entering a vehicle's engine. Rough Engine Idle 3. A rough engine idle is a common condition that can occur as the result of either incomplete engine combustion or restrictions in the amount of fuel reaching an engine. A bad fuel filter can often reduce the flow of fuel to an engine to the degree that normal engine combustion is negatively affected, which can cause, among other things, a rough, erratic engine idle. Reduced Engine Power 4. If fuel flow to a vehicle's engine is reduced, normal engine combustion is prevented, which can cause a noticeable reduction in engine power output. A bad fuel filter, especially one that is plugged, can restrict fuel flow to a vehicle's engine enough to impede engine combustion, which leads to a decrease in engine power. No-Start Condition 5. If a bad fuel filter completely stops fuel flow to a vehicle's engine, the vehicle will not start. An engine relies on the ignition of both fuel and air to start and operate. [/quote]I've changed my fuel filter today and i still feel it. Maybe it needs sometime to adjust to the new fuel filter?

Any thoughts on it?

The S14 has the one in the engine bay that you dealt with, and a sock over the pickup in the gas tank. It's unlikely that the one in the gas tank is bad. If you wanna look the access is behind the back seats when you fold them down. just be sure to relieve the pressure before pulling off lines and such. If you can narrow it down to a fuel problem I would suspect the pump before the sock.

The car wouldn't need to learn a new filter.
