How difficult would this conversion be? Can someone give me some links? I have the opportunity to pick up a 92 convertible really cheap (smashed front end, been sitting in the lady's yard for a while), as well as the front panels from an s14. I have patience, a garage, and good mechanical knowledge (pulled the motor in my Z32 to upgrade the turbos this summer). Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am still considering getting the s13 and putting oem panels on it, but an s14 front end on a s13 convertible would definitely be a unique daily driver (and then I could keep with the penny pinching budget and put a ca18det in there on down the road...).

TIA

I've done quite a bit of searching, but I haven't found anything on this particular conversion. So what does 14 sound like in japanese? If I'm going to have a new conversion, I want to name it, by God!

Well, there's a first time for everything ;). Actually, even though I can get the s14 parts for < $500, I think I will just go for the oem parts, then maybe do a jdm s13 conversion on down the road. There are enough junkyards around here that I should be able to get what I need to get the stock parts for less than that.

S13 Silvia convertable would be super sweet. Then maybe some fender flares with a Bomex body kit and some super wide 18x9 and 18x10 wheels. Just a thought!

I guess I could always do a 5 lug conversion and then share my 18" fully polished Blitz Type 03s from my Z...

Doesn't make too much sense to do the silvio conversion after fixing the whole front end. Just buy it and save up for the sS13 silvia panels, no?

Well, if I buy it, I will need to get it fixed so I can drive it (I'm wanting a new daily driver). My budget for the 240 would be secondary to the Z, so I likely wouldn't be able to get the extra $600 or so that it would cost for the Silvia conversion until next year some time. We'll see how it pans out, as I now have a guy who is doing a front end conversion on his s13, so I may be able to get his stock panels for a song.

just a small hint, the convertible is not your standard 240. If you can fabricate all kinds of mounts and brackets then go for it. If not then its going to cost some serious green backs.

Is that information not accurate?

What would be badass is getting strawberry faced convertible. You'd have somewhat of a "Varietta", the S15 convertible.

Well, the guy is on tight budget man, ... but a S15 conversion front on a convertible S13 is a really nice match. Refresh its paint may probably compare the look of your Z ~

bringing this from the dead :D

that blue silvia convertable is exactly what I'm looking to do to my S13. One thing I want, though, are some good pictures of the JDM silvias. I need rear end shots and can't find much more than front end shots. the front end conversion shouldn't be much of a problem, but I figure if i'm gonna go the length to get the front end converted, I might as well go ahead and get Silvia slathered on the rear as well.
