After searching forever on how to rewire the fog lights to come on with the parking lights, and finding nothing helpful, I figured i'd post up how to do it without totally ghetto rigging your car.

Basicly, the fog light relay wont turn on the fogs unless it gets a power source from your headlight's low beam switch. So what you have to do is cut the wire that runs to the fog light relay from that switch (red wire with a blue stripe in the under hood relay box next to your battery) and connect it to the front right bumper side marker light's red/blue wire. the wire that originally supplied power to the relay needs to be taped up and left in the relay box, if it stays connected and supplies power along with the sidemarker, you'll blow a fuse. I wouldnt know from experience

You'll need a couple of feet of wire to run from the side marker to the relay box, and need to solder and tape everything up real well when you're done. I drilled a hole to get the wire from the side marker to the relay, but if you want to take your battery out, you can rout the wire along with the factory harness that feeds in on the front site. Wish I had pics to show in more detal, but if anyone has any questions, just ask.

Nice writeup, not that it really applies to me, but I'm so frustrated with the local Nissan dealership. I ordered the foglight combination turn signal and the foglight relay, but they gave me the wrong one, and they keep insisting they gave me the right one!

Just for clarification the foglight relay is black correct?

the one under the hood on my car is blue. it should be labeled on the top of the relay/fuse box.

that sucks about the dealership screwing things up, you would think they would be the final word on what the right parts would be. then again, some people just dont care enough about their jobs to do the right thing

Sounds like the dealership only gave you half of what you need. Technically they did give you what you needed, kinda. For the fogs in the 97-98 you need two relays for it to work. One black and one blue. For the 97-98 the blue relay goes in the kick pannel on the drivers side and the black relay goes in the fuse box under the hood. I had trouble finding where the blue relay went in the kick pannel, you have to look underneith the panel that holds the fuses and you will find a relay holder taped to a wireing harness, it doesnt go on the pannel with the fueses. Its kinda tucked away under there close to the floor you might have to take the whole trim pannel off to get to it.
