How do you reupholster the door panel insert on an S14, i was looking for a write up or just dumb luck through pix but when i searched i didn't find anything on this particular topic. I would like to redo in black suede but am in over my head kinda because i haven't done interior upholstering before and the "Kings Of Interior" thread got me all riled and excited to do it, so i bought the material got home, looked at the door panel and went #$%#, ($%*, etc, etc. So long rambling cut short, any of you S14 Interior Kings, want to help me out?

that is from the tech pages from this web sit. for further tech write ups go to the menu bar at the top the first tab say register and the 7th tab to the right of that says tech pages, place you courser over it and select 240sx technical. in there you'll find write ups on almost every thing.

We should really make a NOTM (noob of the month), you would be my first pick my friend.

To the OP:In the S13 the upholstery on the door panel is only held on by glue, I could imagine it would be the same with the S14 although I have never worked on one. Try to get a heat gun or even a hair dryer and gently pry at any corner of the upholstery while heating it up a little bit. If it peels off like it would in the S13 then just reapply the new material, try searching too, its been covered a few times in the S13. Don't quote me on this though, like I said I've never worked on an S14.

I clicked on this thread because I was also thinking about redoing the door inserts in my S14 with a different material. Maybe Bride fabric or suede. But of course, nothing in this thread is pertinent to the OP's request about a specific write up for the S14. Gee whiz, who would have guessed?
