OK so we have just swapped a new ka into my s14 but it doesnt start, all we are getting right now is one of the relays in the fuse box under the dash is clicking when you try to turn the car on and thats it! the starter doesnt engage or anything but I did take it in to get it tested before putting it in and it was fine. the following is what i've done and what I think might be the issue.

what we have done so far,

1. have made sure the battery is good2. all fuses are good, none are burnt out3. the ignition harness on the steering wheel has been checked with multi reader and seems to emit correct voltages when we try to start the car.

what we dont know:

1. the clutch switch, not sure on how to test it, anyone got any ideas?(this is a US car and needs this as canadian cars have it but dont need it to start).2. there are 2 wires not connected underneath the dash, a black wire with pink dots and a green wire with white stripe, does anyone know what they are? they have a 12v of power when we try to turn the car on.3. anyone know what the relays in the fuse panel under the dash are for? the little fuse descriptions does not explain them at all.

Is there anything I am missing here? I REALLY need help! I just want it done

Although your alarm isn't going off which is signaled by your headlights flashing usually try to reset the alarm anyways and see if that works. It happened to me once and the car would not crank of anything. What you do if you don't have the FOB is make sure everything is closed and lock the driver side door from the outside. That should immediately reset the alarm if it came with one. If its that you should be able to turn it on after that.

oh yeah and in the fsm it has the description of the relays down there two of them are involved with ignition here's the link. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/240sx/1995/EL.pdf That's from the FSM for the 1995 240sx if you need the FSM for another year here's the link to the FSM's for 240sx's http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/240sx/. Once you click on the year you can go under the EL heading for all the information of the electrical system in the 240sx.

alright so I tried the anti theft thing and what happened when I closed all the doors was the security light came on and stayed on, it didnt flash, but when I opened the door it would start flashing, is that normal?

edit: got it running with by-passing the clutch interlock relay :D and replacing the ignition switch as my original one was faulty(would not always engage).
