S14 Dist. work in an S13?

Recently swapped an S14 KA into my stepson's S13 (92 model) and used the S14 distributor. I just read in a post in the F/S section that you need to use the S13 distributor.

Any validity in that? Or did the person from whom we purchased the engine already swap the distributors? The one in the S14 engine looked identical to the one out of the S13 engine.

the S13 distributor has another plug which is for the external coil, the S14 doesn't have 1 as it has internal coil. as for usin the S14 on the S13, i dun believe you can as there isn't a plug for that 1 on the S13's harness unless you splice it out(don't know if you can do that), you can though, use an S13 distributor with the external coil on an S14 if you splice some wires, some people do it cause they can then upgrade to a MSD blaster SS coil or better.

Ok, the guy we bought the engine from must have already slapped an S13 dist. in there.
