I have an s14 silvia coming from japan shipped to me via military ship. I was wondering what are the differences between the usdm and the jdm models.

If you get a K's model it will have a turbocharged engine are one of the obvious things.

It will probably come with different aero parts, it will most likely have LSD

Other than the fact it will be right hand drive, and a different engine, for the most part it will be the same.

No motor differences because its just the shell. It is a 1995 s14 silvia. Just curious to know if anyone knew because I have no idea what to expect.

Don't they have rear windshield wipers?

I would have liked it if the S14 came with a rear wiper. Defroster takes too long to warm up in the morning.

And jbsr20fiend, why no motor? If I was importing an S14 I'd only take it with the motor intact.

I already have a built sr ready to go but the current chassis that I have isn't really worth my time. Kind of like the theory that you can polish a turd all you want but the bottom line is you still have a piece of ****. Plus the price of the silvia shell is fairly reasonable, $2000, and it comes with other aftermarket parts like exhaust and some other goodies, but that remains to be seen since I personally haven't seen the car yet. Its currently in Indiana so I'm hoping to try to pick it up on Thursday.

isn't there some customs law or something that says you can only bring in shells and motors separately? (except if it's your business to bring complete cars like motorex)

Not sure about the laws customs but to answer your question Hashiriyagdb one of my friends that is helping me with my car knows someone who was stationed in japan. He wanted to do the rb26dett but was soon transfered before those plans could be completed. Lucky for me he needed to do something with the shell and voila, it just kinda happened.
