sup ladies and gents. trying to figure out how to get rid of my huge ported box with 2 10's. i have no useful trunk space! i have two ideas, lookin for some help?! #1: has anyone seen 2 tens mounted onto/near that back ledge (just rear of the back seats)? #2 what about puttin one sub in each of the corners, next to the corner/tail lights area? should fit but just wonderin how that would sound with them firing sideways, and towards each other? helps me!

On 240sx.org they show how you can mount 8" or 10" subs behind the interior side pieces under the rear small windows. Or you can custom make 2 separate boxes and have them on each side of the trunk with the speakers vertically. I know what you mean about room in the trunk, I have 2 10's in a sealed wedge box and can't fit anythiong else in there. The back space behind the seats I don't believe is big enough for 2 10's, but if you want to get creative, make a box out of the fold down part of the rear seats and cushion the front so it's still usable. Possibilities are endless.

You won't have any adverse effects of the drivers firing sideways or toward each other. Your main concern is that you have sufficient airspace for the driver to work in and that the sound can reach the interior of the car through the trunk with the least resistance as possible.

You might not be able to use your current 10's. Finding another driver that requires less airspace could help a lot.

Rear deck can work but you need a good board to mount them to and make sure you seal the trunk from the cabin. You also need to find a driver that will work well in "free air" or without an enclosure.

You could go with some smaller dia driver in the rear deck. You could for some that are free air/infinite baffle compliant, or some that require a box and build one under the rear deck for them.

This guy went with 6, 6.5" subs in this fiberglass and CF enclosure for the S2000. I believe he said after it was all said and done, it was under 400 bucks. He also hit 132db.

ive done the 2 10s in the corners of the trunk, the problems with that setup is that their isnt enough room to get decent airspace, so you have to use relatively weak subs.. in return, it isnt very loud, and not the best quality due to the sound waves cancelling eachother out, if you brought out the box enough to get decent airspace, for a decent sized sub, it should hit pretty good, i myself went with a false floor and a single 12' L7, and it sounds awesome, its tooooo loud for me, but the SQ is fantastic. depending on what your trying to get from your system, i would say fibgerglass the spare tire well and make it into a false floor, u can keep it flat or build it up however you want, but an L5 10' or 12' would be perfect for the flat floor. let me know if you need some more details on how to do that. good luck
