My dash is cracked like everyone else's. Just curious what others have done to deal with this issue. I hate it, it drives me crazy. The guy that I bought it from had a huge ugly dashmat. What have you done?

Cracked dashes suck.
Usually people put an ugly dashmat over it, like your car's previous owner, or replace the dashboard.

I swapped my dashboard out to an uncracked one when I changed my S13's interior to black, but if that one cracks as well I might take it to an upholstery place and have it wrapped and stitched in leather.

Wrapped? About How much does that cost? Does it have to come out for that? Its not getting replaced. Thats time and money that could be spent someware else.

Yep, it'll have to come out.
No idea how much it'll cost.

Just keep a dashmat on it.

replacing it is definitely cheaper than wrapping it. A new dash will cost like 50-100 bucks and it takes an afternoon to install it. If you don't want to replace it, dashmat. I don't see any other option being better than replacement as far as cost and result.

In that case. I thought changing the dash would be more costly and time consuming. Im looking into it now. Thanks

Uncracked/non destroyed s14 dashes are more difficult to come by that their s13 counterparts, they are also more expensive. Remember that s14's have air bags so when the cars are wrecked the dash is usually destroyed as well.

I've read that you can scrape the vinyl crap and foam off of the dash and use truck bed liner on it.

On nico, in fact.

Makes sense to me, I plan to try it on my own badly cracked dash.

But I don't know, s14 dash might be different in it's composition.

Old vinyl cracks, and getting one that's not showing it yet won't fix it. Sooner or later you'll just need another, if you don't modify it somehow.

I think there's also a nico how-to/tech article on filling the cracks, blending the surface, and vinyl painting the whole thing, but that seems like a pretty short-term band-aid.

Whatever you do, it's pretty obviously going to have to come out.
