Hey guys, I have a 95 240sx, and am kind of a new owner, alrite so from the start, i had not driven my car for about a week or so but before then it was running perfectly and was well maintained. Then the temp gauge started spasmatically shoooting up to red hot then back to normal temp every 10 mins or so. I checked for leaks but everything seemed fine. So i drove a few more days and noticed one night my coolant was spewing back into my resevoir tank from my radiator, and it sounded pretty bad, but it seemed better the next morining and I continued driving, up to 50mis. Then today as I was about to start my car I noticed most of my coolant had leaked out, the leak seemed to be coming from a place directly above the oil pan. I check the dip stick and it seemed like normal. I know i have a problem but was wondering to what extent and what may be the best solution. thanks for any help.

bad news guys, i changed the water pump, waited a day then drove my car around the block. but the temp gauge shot up again, so i checked the dip stick and my oil looked muddy and had bubbles in it. i think i'm really in a hole now but any advice out there?

have you bled it? it takes several attempts. park on hill with rad cap off. heater on. run car. you should have seen water coming out of weep hole of water pump. belts should be wet with coolant as it comes out of weep hole. where on the oil pan did you see the coolant? are you still losing coolant??????

i did not bleed the system yet, but im kinda devastated that i see bad looking oil with many air bubbles and also white smoke from the exausht. Does this naturally mean blown head gasket or could this be something else?

also coolant is no longer leaking, and the original leak was coming from the water pump seal.

im wrong person to ask. but bleed the system. that is why you are overheating. you saw external leaks.

Bleed the system, It should be at the highest point of the cooling system, alot of times the screw or bolt is on the thermostat housing.

Check your cooling system with a pressure tester, or leave your car running with your rad cap off if excess bubbles are comming out then its possible a head gasket. Just leave the pressure tester on for 2 min at the rad cap rated psi i think its 13 for you, it should not lower to much

Is your oil foamy? Because if it is, then some engine coolant has leaked into the oil. Either way, you definitely need to bleed the system to get rid of the bad oil.
