S14 cold air intake question

So i'm ordering a cold air intake for my s14. I know how it works by relocating the filter outside of the engine bay (just infront of the drivers side wheel) I think. So here is my question I don't have a fender liner at the moment. Without it am I running a high risk of getting water in the intake?

I cant say for sure if it will happen on your car but I have heard about it happen numerous times on other cars. I know the make a part that you can put on the intake to help prevent it but its not a guarantee that it wont happen. i think its called a bypass valve but i could be wrong.

Jeez not what I wanted to hear at all.

At the cost of my engine I really dont think its even worth chancing it and It rains and floods a lot hear in Florida.

Is ram air any better?

I really dont think that you will see that much of a gain for the possibility sucking up water.

but you might do some more research other that just taking my advise. Im just stating what i have seen other people experience with that type of system

or get a fender liner. or get a ram air and make a heat shield to keep the hot air away from the filter

just do short ram it gets the job done
