All,

I'm new here and I just bought a 1995 240SX SE. I'm wondering how I can bypass the clutch interlock so I don't have to depress the clutch pedal when starting the car. Is there a connector that I can disconnect and do I have to put in a jumper wire ?

Thanks guys.

hey, welcome to nico.

its a piece of cake. 1)you can unplug the switch on your clutch pedal(there may be more than one) and put a jumper across it. this will keep the interlock relay energized at all times.2)better yet. pull interlock relay and install jumper across the switch side. which wires are the switch side depends on if it is a cross type connector or a 2+2 type connector.

Chris,

Thanks. Where is the location of the interlock relay ? I don't recall hearing anything clicking when I depress the clutch pedal. Could it be in the engine compartment area ?

I should have known. All the other cars that I have bypassed used the same method except the DSM which only needed unplugging a connector.

I took a quick look at the switch and I decided to unplug it. Car wouldn't start. So I placed a jumper wire and VOILA, it starts w/o depressing the clutch pedal.

Thanks for bearing with me

Chris,

I'll keep an eye on the battery, but I would have thought that the relay would have been de-energized when the car is shut off. I could be wrong though.
