i just installed a 6000k hid (true conversion) kit in my car, and i'm not sure if this is supposed to happen, but the low beams (hid's) stay on when i flash-to-pass or when i just put the brights on. does it do this normally with the stock halogens or should the low beams go off when the highs come on? i guess i never noticed if it's supposed to because they were similar in brightness/color.

otherwise a wire has probably been crossed somewhere!

low beams stay on in teh kouki .

They turn off in other cars, such as s13 popup lights.

REALLY?

My friend hi-beamed me just a few days ago and both hi-beam & lo-beam were lit.

I'd personally prefer both on, hahahahaha.

lets see some pics of the cutoff on a wall 20 ft away from your car. If it is a kit, then it is probably pretty bad and you are going to blind oncoming traffic. Retrofitting is the way to go.

yea, post pics!

my friend also has hid's in her kouki. the glare is actually not bad at all - SUV's behind you are still worse. aimed just slightly lower than stock, the stock glare shield does a decent job of keeping glare out. and the projector pattern does cut off the hid bulb pretty well.

my other friend installed s2k projectors into his kouki - and yes, that's the way to go. Relatively, it's WAY better, of course. But even just pop in the bulb into the kouki projector is still SIGNIFICANTLY better than an ebay h4 housing + hid kit install.

as of now, they're aimed where stock is/probably a little off (2.5" lower because of my coilovers)

the right one is a tiny bit higher because i messed with the adjustment screw trying to get the level bubble to move, but i stopped. i plan on adjusting it here soon to even everything out

also, this isn't an ebay kit . i was able to keep everything stock except for the cap that goes on the back of the housing. came with the bulbs and ballasts and all the wiring (www.hids4u.co.uk)

i hate HID lights in other cars, since your lights are brighter on low beam than mine are on high beam... im just jealous lol

thanks. i'm heading to the dealership today to pick up some new brackets for the center grille since two of them are broken and look different than the other two, and i'm also going to try to get my headlights aimed properly!

i figure since the Z has the option of HID's, they should be able to aim mine no problem
