Im having a problem with the brake system of my '96 240sx on-ABS. After an hour or so of driving the car, the pedal starts to get very stiff to press it, like a can't apply the brakes, but the odd part, is the brakes start to apply a bit and increment gradually, to the point that is hard to advance, and a bit after that, the breaks release them selves, and now is hard to brake, but the pedal does not go all the way down to the floor. I hope I explained my self about the situation.
I purged the system several times, replace the liquid completely, but it keeps doing the same thing. Any ideas?

hope you can help, is sad no to use my S14 and use my wife's car

sounds to me like the abs unit might be failing. i dont have abs in my car personally but this is what i have to suggest

find the 240sx FSM for the ABS unit, google.com: 240sx fsm...

look to see if your problem is in there and follow the procedure for diagnosing it

To me it sounds like your brake master cylinder. My 89 coupe would do the same thing just in alot faster time period. I would be going down the road and you could feel the pressure build in the pedal and it would almost lock the front tires down. Anyways I replaced everything from the booster to the calipers and nothing helped. Finally I broke down and got the master cylinder and it fixed everything. Hope this helps.
