Are you running stock exhaust or an after market setup?

All 240 exhausts are dual tipped if iirc. Did you just buy the car?

yeah i just bought it about 2-3 months ago, guy had it running like crap, guess i'll have to get under the car to check if its stock or not, but its pretty loud as it is, and i know its not torn, but would it make a big difference if it is? wondering

Whenever the resonator is removed the deceleration lean backfire is audible. This happens whenever the unspent exhaust gases are ignited in the pipe.

Thats why you see flames come out of racecars' exhaust. I dont understand how you get the unburnt gases from deceleration....or is it from a rich mixture
