s14 Auto transmission Overdrive Issues

Ok, when I turn my car on I get 16 flashes from the O/D Off light. Also, when I push the overdrive button on the shifter it doesnt do anything, the O/D Off light doesnt illuminate. O/D doesnt feel like its working either because when im driving it doesnt do a thing when I mess with the O/D button. Can someone help me by letting me know what I need to do? I do also have a check engine light that led to the TPS sensor malfunctioning. I ended up cleaning out the connector to the TPS sensor since it had some goop in it. The transmission seemed to be shifting better, but still O/D doesnt work. The only transmission code that came up with the scan was TPS code. Can anybody help?

Does it use 4 gears? Like, can you feel it shift 3 times, into each one?
