are these the sport max wheels?

I was told a few times that you would need a spacer for the front, a pretty meaty spacer as well. I was thinking about getting these with a 30 mm spacer in the front and a 25 mm spacer for the rear.

In terms of tire sizes, I am gonna run a 215 all the way around.

A 215 on an 18x9.5 will never stay on the bead. That is a huge stretch.

I see 215's on 9's all the time. I don't think a half inch will be too much. I may end up going 225 anyway. I guess we will see.

215 on a 9 is already a huge stretch. It won't fit safely on a 9.5, and it will look rediculous. We are also talking about 18s, which means a smaller sidewall, which makes the stretch even more difficult.

I can agree with that, most of the 9's I see with 215's are on a 17" rim.

I guess I will have to go 225 then. Oh well.

You seem so dissapointed. Why are you wanting such a crazy stretch anyways?

Here is 235 on a 17x9.

It's already enough of a stretch to give you some handling benefits. I wouldn't run smaller than a 235 on an 18x9.5.

i am running 225/40/18 on 18x8.5 and 255/35/18 on 18x9.5 and the offset is 33 in front and 38 in rear and i have to have a 5mm spacer in front to keep from hitting my coilovers but the back is good, wish i went lower though on the offset

buddy here runs 235 on his 18x9.5's...trust me its the thinnest id go

like dean said...why you want such a crazy stretch anyway? are you getting low enough offsets that you actually need them or something?

I guess my disappointment stems from improper information. I was told the best size for a stretch on a 9" rim is a 215. It doesn't seem like 215 is a that big of a stretch anyway, 215mm is like 8.5 inches, 1/2" stretch on either side. It doesn't seem crazy to me. I dont think my offsets are too crazy, they will be a +5 front and a + 10 rear. I may use a larger spacer in the rear.

I like the pic of the S13 with 235 on 9" wheel. Do you know the offset of those wheels?

wilfonzo, the front will definitely need a spacer. Based on the clearance of x8 +35, you'll need a 15mm spacer or so.

Decent stretch will be 225/40 and 245/40 that was what I ran on the nismos with the same exact offsets, you can run 215's in the front without beading issues as stated before. As for spacers you will need atleast a 5mm but preferrably a 7mm spacer in the front and a small spacer in the rear to get a good looking offset.

I am running that exact setup. I currently have stock suspension and it fits fine, but just barely. There isn't even room for a wheel weight on the inside of the front wheels.

I think the fit okay in the rear, I'd like to stick them out a bit more and roll/pull the fenders. Front I definately would like a spacer. I'm not going to buy coilovers since I only plan on daily driving it. But I think aftermarket dampers will fit fine, assuming the spring base plate is in the stock location. I don't remember tire sizes exactly, but they are stretched a little, just to make them even with the rim. I can check tomorrow if anyone still needs.

Here's some pics of the wheels, if you want to see what I mean about spacers.
