I have an S13 and I need to change out my ball joints, they are worn out. I am also going to do the five-lug conversion at the same time. I will be using the S14 spindles so I need the S14 joints. I do not want to use the S14 lower arm as it is longer and will give me rediculous amounts of negative camber. My intention is to install the S14 ball joints into the S13 lower arms. The question is; is the hole in the two lower arms for the joint the same or will I have to file the S13 one bigger or in some other way modify it to accept the S14 joints?

NOOOOOOO!!!They are both the same size, rather, the S14 balljoint will press into the S13 lca with no modification.Put the file down.

It seemed logigal that they would be. I am seriously tempted to get the Nismo reinforced LCA since I am in there.

If you have access to a welder, you can reinforce the stock piece considerably for a less scratch than the Nismo piece.

I thought about that but then I remembered that my LCA is 17 years old, I want the new bushing as much as the reinforcement and the Nismo one is only slightly more expensive that stock replacement on my end of the world.

Sorry I didn't get to reply to your thread sooner. My ISP has been giving me hell lately.

If you're using the s14 knuckles, you'll need the s14 lca's. They're also longer than the s13 lca's. If you are going to use the s13 lca's for this one, you'll need to press out the s14 ball joints and pop them into the s13's.

If you're able to get the nismo one for a little more than the oem lca, you might want to consider going that route since you won't need to worry about the bushing at the end and would just need to pop out the old ball joint.
