Could any of you 95-98 240SX owners provide pics of your multiple LARGE amp placement. I am mounting 3 amps, most likely in the trunk, but I'm uncertain as to the exact placement... The @#*%ing gas tank location is about as much of a pain is the *** as it could be, and I don't really wish to toss out the spare tire in favor of amp housing.

Of course, part of my problem is that I have to save room for the nitrous bottle, and I don't really like the idea of drilling holes in the car...

Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Well exactly what amps are you running? What size nitrous bottle? Sounds like it could turn into a really fun custom fiberglass job if you want it to.

I has a decision.

I am going to be fabricating a box to fit around the gas tank. I'll be using wood for the box, and hopefully I can find some of that grey dense fabric that is used to line the trunk.

For the moment, I am using a mixed bunch of amps I've accumulated over the years. I have a brand new Power Acoustik for the sub, and the other two are a Punch and a Lightning Audio...I'll likely end up getting a four channel Power Acoustik to match the sub amp, then lose the other two.

The bottle is a ten pound, and it can only really be mounted in one place. It is too big for anywhere else, and the bottle mount has to be positioned properly to be able to reach the release bolt.

Now I just have to find out where I can lose some weight to compensate for all the extra I'm adding...guess I won't be keeping the spare after all.

I was personally planning on mounting a medium sized 4 channel amp on the rear deck lid between the rear speakers. -It's perfectly sized for one-there's good access to run wires as well as hide them-great ventilation (since it's open air)-looks sweet, since you can see it from the outside the car.

Of course that's for 1 medium sized amp... I don't think anyone would be able to give you a location that's good for "multiple large amps" short of building something custom.

Also I would recommend using MDF as opposed to traditional wood. It's the de-facto standard for building enclosures and other audio support structures.

just hope that you live and only park in a nice neighborhood.

I have a garage at home, and my place of work has security guards and cameras...

I realize that visible isn't good for some people... but that's why God invented Tint
