S14 Alarm/Keyless Entry Help

I have a 95 240 se. Ive didnt have the key fob when i bought the car, so i purchased one from the dealership. I was trying to diagnose my keyless entry problem, and im having problems...

The alarm was constantly blinking, even with all doors, hood and trunk closed. I examined the hood sensor and found it wasnt going down, i guess the corresponding piece to push it down when the hood is closed is missing. got that fixed(thanks rubber bands, until i get that piece from a junkyard).

So now the alarm stops blinking when i close the doors, but doesnt start blinking after 30 seconds like the fsm says it should.

Should i replace the alarm control unit? (A friend is parting out a 95 and could get it for me) Or is there some step i over looked...

I should mention too that my lock cylinder for my drivers side door is broken, could that be a problem?

does the alarm work?

i know to manually set the alarm you have to lock the doors from the inside then it will arm after 30seconds. i guess if the door isnt locking then that could be the problem

yeah ive power locked the doors from the inside and waited a minute, but the alarm doesn set(aka start flashing)...

well im gonna to try replacing the whole alarm control unit and ill see if that works...
