:alcoholic :puke Quote »No shirt, No shoes, NO DICE!!!![/quote] can anybody help me find the aiv on my 96 s14 I know it's supposed to be by the intake manifold by the fire wall but all i see is a purple cap w/ wires coming out and i don't see any tubes going into it for air and the bolts sure as hell aren't easy to get too...if this is the aiv how do I get to it ...if not where is it???thanks for any info

Try looking right behind the air box. Thats where it is in my 91. Same engine, so I'm assuming the engine compartments have the same layout.

S14s don't have an AIV. The two items below the upper plenum are the IACV, and the IAA. The IACV is the unit with 2 plugs on it, purple and black, and is mounted on the back end of the lower plenum. It controls idle air, and idle up when the AC is engaged. The IAA sits more above it, on top of the lower plenum. Both are supplied intake air through the larger hose right before the throttle body, it then splits into 2 hard lines. The AIV is the big resonator-looking box found on S13s, mounted to the driverside shock tower.
