I was curious if anyone who has a S14 not equiped with keyless entry added it later on.

Do I just need the keyless module and fob? And if so what is the programing proceedure for the fob?

Thanks,~Kris

the procedure to program a nissan keyfob is to get in the car close the door lock it then put the key in and out of the ignition untill the turn signals flash then insert the key turn to "on" and hit a button on the keyfob. then remove the key and unlock the door and get out and try it

Does your S14 already have the keyless entry from the factory. Check the VIN and see. Mine was but when I bought the car all I got was one key! I found out later on that since it was an SE it already had the system and I was just missing the remote. The remote is like $80 at the dealer and when you get it they can do it for you.

Raising the dead, forgot I posted this, just happened to find it when searching. lol

I have a 95' 'base'... however it had a lot of options on it for a base, short of being a SE. :/

I have a 96' SE parts car I was thinking of swapping the entire harness for the interior (As the dash harness changed a bit in 96). From what I can tell my 95' is an ODBII car already as it has the proper data port located under the passenger portion of the dash, so I think the swap to the 96' harness would be easy.

From what I've read the remote entry module is located above the hood release in the dash, I'm going to look tonight to see if mine has it in my base model. If I do not, do I just need to aquire this module and the remote fob to have factory keyless in my S14?

P.S., the programming system sounds very similar to GM's for their pre-2001 vehicles.

I'm not really sure. It makes sense but I can't verify that just swapping those items alone will do the trick.

Here is my rear glass, the lower connector is for my defrost, someone on Zilvia mentioned another connector to the rear glass that was for keyless, could this be the one?

Here is a photo of the area below by dash near the 'hood release'. I dont see any silver boxes, could it be the smaller black box in the left area of the image?

I install mobile electronics for a living, and I must say that going with a quality unit from DEI is much better than anything OEM. You have many more available options and it is normally cheaper.
