I'm trying to get the ac going on my 98' 240sx. I got a new dryer a couple weeks ago but when I went to put it on today I found that the lines in and out of the dryer are too big to fit the holes. I would have just sanded the ends of the lines but the difference in hole size from the original and new dyer is pretty big. Does anybody know if they used different dryers different years, or did I get the wrong one and all s14's are the same? Everything lines up like it should on the new one, I thought it would pop right in perfect when I first looked at it.

i don't think you need a receiver dryer. if i'm not mistaken the receiver drier was used on the s13 with an expansion valve. on the s14 they used an fixed orifice so you need an accumulator.

The S14 does have a receiver dryer. I'm in the process of replacing mine as well... I noticed there is also an electrical connecter on the top of my dryer, where my new one doesn't have a fitting for it.

Has anyone replace this part on their S14? Can you shed some light on how you replaced it?

The electrical connector should be on the end of a bolt. You have to remove one of the two bolts on the new dryer and it'll fit right in.
