ok. so my A/C is blowing nothing but hot air. usually a bit hotter then outside. it worked about two weeks ago. but it was getting weaker. i saw fluid leaking under the car and also from under the passenger side dash. both seem like just water. the A/C turns on and all. engine idles higher. etc. is it just a freon thing or do i need to be looking into other issues?

i would take it to an a/c shop or anyshop. it could be numerous things. that they can easy find.

That sounds exactly like what my 1990 is doing now. Last Friday, it worked fine. Monday, everything worked the same, except no cold air. The A/C light came on, rpms went up, compressor was turning, just no cold air. I checked that the compressor came on when using defrost with the A/C button off. I checked the sight glass, but I could not see anything related to what the FSM said. I was checking the A/C lines. I know one side is supposed to be hot and the other cold, neither felt hot or cold.

This sucks, living in hot, humid Florida with no A/C. I am going to try a can of R12 to see if it is just low. If I don't get "colder" air, then I think it's off to an A/C shop... :( I guess I will head there anyway so they can check for leaks.

What do you think, any obvious things I am missing?

fill up the freon and see if it gets colder. i can almsot say it will but for how long is the key. msot likely an o-ring leak. but with so amny o-rings.. makes it a bish to find.

If it is an O-ring, I'm guessing they'd have to evacuate the whole system replace the ring(s) and then recharge..??
