S14 5 Speed conversion problem

Okay I just finished a changeover. Everything is fine except after 140 miles CEL for the neutral position switch or something came on. Now I have heard that I dont have to hook those switches into the ECU and I have also heard that I should. Is this the problem. And do I have to leave the Auto transmission module plugged in to the car?

whenever i did my swap from ka to sr and the 5 speed swap as well i went ahead and left everything plugged up and all is fine. also do you have a 5 speed ecu?

yeah I have a 5 speed ecu for a 96, i guess I will have to hook that sensor up to the ECU
