S14 5 lug Question.

I've searched but nothing I've read seems to cover this particular aspect of the process.

First off, some backround. I have an S13, w/S14 spindles and ball joint. Its lacks ABS. I just purchased an S14 that is 4 lug but has ABS (LSD and a spoiler, but not sunroof. Weird *** car).

I was going to simply take the 5 lug front hubs from the S13 (remember it's got S14 spindles on it) and put them on the S14. The problem is that they don't have the gear for the ABS sensor. Now unless I'm looking at it wrong, that gear is pressed onto the front hub, so if I take the non-abs, 5 lug hub and try to put in on my ABS equipped S14, the ABS won't work because it lacks the gear.

Am I looking at it wrong and the gear isn't attached to the hub? If so that simplifies things. If not, does it come off and I can just put it on the 5 lug hub?

Does this make any sense at all? I feel like a newb...

Hmmm. Interesting situation. I don't think you can take off the abs gear but i'm not sure on that. If need be, you can get the oem abs ones for like 100 each I think from courtesy parts.com.

Not to sound like a cheapass, but then I'd have to buy another set of wheels and then I'd have a set of the ugly S14 4 lug alloys laying around.

Did you ever figure this out? This may be confusing. I may be in the same boat as I was going to put my non-abs 5 lugs on my now wrecked s14. I'm definitely going to pick up another s14 and put the new hubs on, just need to know if the non-abs hubs will work on an abs car since I already have the new hubs anyways.

The non-abs will bolt up to the abs car, but you loose the abs at that point.

I'm going to try and pull the gear off of the hub and transfer it over to the other hub.
