This is my first post on this forum. I am new owner of a 1995 240sx. First of all I tried to do a search but could not find anything on this topic although I am sure there are tons of things written about it.

Anyway, on to the problem. Unfortunately, I have a base 240 with the 4 lug hub. I would like to convert it to the 5 lug hub. What do I need? Just the hub for the front and rear or do I need bearings and other goodies? Also, any tips on the install would be much appreciated.

I have found tons of write ups on switching the S13 to a five lug set up but not for the S14. I figured it would be much easier since the SE S14 came with the 5 lug hub anyway. Thanks in advance for you help.

Also, I have read that you need the whole front spindle for the hub conversion but then again sport compact car said that all S14 spindles are the same when they did their S13 build up. Who is correct?

The S14 is much easier. For the front, you need S14 SE hubs. Just unbolt your 4 lug hubs and bolt on the 5 luggers. You can find these in the classifieds from someone parting out an SE or in local junkyard (kinda tough to find). You can buy them new from a sponsor (EverythingNissan.com) for $100 each. I think new front hubs only come with bearings, so if yours are shot, this is prolly the best route.

For the rear, you can use S14 SE, Z32 nonturbo, or J30 hubs. I'm not 100% sure on the J30 as Ive never compared them, but word is they can be used. These bolt on as well.

Heres a link with the basics.http://importnut.net/300zxbrakeswap.htm#5-lug
