Hello, i just purchased a 1995 240sx equipped with a factory alarm (I think so anyways) and also a Viper alarm of some type. The reason i think it has a factory alarm is because at one point the horn alarm sounded, like factory alarms do (this happened right after disarming the Viper alarm, maybe unlocking the doors triggered it?).

Anyways, it has a slew of issues, like:

- remote start not turning the starter (although it does switch the ignition on and prime the fuel pump, and the starter does click, just not rotate).

- car will act weird soemtimes, like it will stay running after the key is taken out, as if the remote start is still engaged.

- one time today the remote kicked on the starter while the car was already running (sucked).

Anyways, my main questions are:

- Can I cut the remote start lead from the alarm to the ECU and not have any ill effects? I know which wire it is, just dont want to jack up the stock ignition junk also.

- What is the best method to removing an alarm completely, if I choose to go that route?

- Are factory alarm systems known to cause issues with aftermarket systems?

Thanks in advance, this is my first car ever with an alarm (Im 26 BTW, so that actually means something ) and its a PITA so far, but Imma get a new system and yank out that old Viper most likely. ANyways, please help me out if you can.
