Hi, I need help with my swap, I have all the parts already. I need to know where to mount the computer that was mounted where the clutch pedal is now mounted.. or do I just remove it? Also, The rod connected to the auto shifter that allows key to be removed when in park.. do I remove this or do I need to just tuck it in somewhere?

I already have that tutorial and another one I've been looking at. Neither one answer my questions though.

Well I've heard you can unplug it which my brother did with no problems. I recently swapped mine into manual and just zip tied it onto the steering column.

Ok. The guide says to "unplug the box where clutch is supposed to go, we will need it later" and its not mentioned anywhere after that.. and the rod that was connected to shifter it says unplug it.. but if its no longer gonna be used why not cut it out?

the guide says...

"5. Remove the shifter and all the stuff that comes with it. You will now see the ground through your center console.

5 1/2. remove the shifter cable that goes to the ignition, it controls the key release"

so after you take out the AT shifter, then you can remove that rod completely...

Ok and what about the box that is now dangling in front of my clutch and brake pedals?

That box is the auto trans control unit. You can disconnect it and just zip-tie the wires somewhere under the dash out of the way. It dosen't need to be connected at all.

Btw, instead of cutting that cable that's connected to the shifter, look at the back of the ignition switch where you put the key in to start the car. On the back of the ignition switch facing the firewall there's a white box-ish looking thing. The other end of that cable is connected to it. If you disconnect it from here than you can pull the whole cable out in one piece.

Ok I appreciate it. As far as the wiring goes, I have a manual ecu and manual trans harness. Am I going to have to modify the harness or will it just be plug n play?

Update*, we are just about done with the car, all we have left is to finish up the wiring , put in driveshaft, and put the interior back together... Im just wondering, for future reference, if I were to do a engine/trans swap is it going to be harder to do it since it was a factory manual? Or since its been converted would it be the exact same?

Asking because im saving my money for a car, fd rx7, or a kouki 240sx and build it...OR, if my car would be exact same when converting, I will keep mine and build it from the ground up..
