Please help.I have a 1994 nissan 200sx s13. It burns too much fuel and will not rev past 4000 revs if you put the peddal to the floor. If you gradually do it, it will slowly rev out but sounds very bad. Please help. i am over a year trying to solve this.

Hmm, I have heard some people say that the rev limiter at 4000-4500rpms is caused by a dying fuel pump.

I am changing mine today or tomorrow. I will let you know if it fixes anything.

Oh, I bought a Walbro 255 fuel pump. I was going to upgrade it anyway.

I'll post back soon with the results.

ok, it is a gradual thing right? try unplugging things like maf, ect, o2 sensor, and see if that helps. also how does it drive at regular(2000-3000) rpm range? is it always running rich?

Not sure why, but someone has mentioned to me about the air-flow meter.I have tried to check the resistance on this but it has only three pin connectors and not four like the data book says. This is a problem that is getting worse over time, i bought the car from my girlfriends uncle who has told me that it used to be a rocket!!When i gradually increase the revs and get it over 5k, i can then floor it and it seems fine.

that sounds like a fuel ratio prob. what you need to do is monitor voltage from the maf. one wire is ground, one is sensor voltage(5v), and one is the signal. if you could monitor signal as it revs and tell me that would help.
