S13 with RB25 swap Speedo and RPM off need fix!

I wouldnt say it was reading like exactly half... but yeah around that ballpark... and no, didnt have to adjust anything at ALL. I removed the RB25 speed sensor, swapped the gear tips(Red plastic, you will need some snap ring pliers), then had to pop the collar out of the inside of the sensor coupling (On both sensors) and swap them with each other. The sensor coupling collar coming out of the RB25 Sensor should snap right into the N/a 300zx Sensor's coupling, then pop it into the trans, connect the coupling, and roll out... Mine was 100% dead on, tested yesterday evening with my Megellan GPS from 0 through 80 it is 100% accurate. No Adjustment needed.

Thanks a lot for this. I'm not sure now if I want to calibrate my 180 KM/H gauge, or just get a NA speed sensor now...hmm...

you can use a JDM S13 speedo thats reads up to 240kph and use the pot on the back to adjust to mph. I've done this on 2 cars and they both work perfectly. This works only on S13's with RB25's where the factory speedo reads slow. i have some JDM speedos as well, if anyone needs them...

Its because the Tach is made for an inline 4 and not the inline 6 its reading for... thus making it count roughly 1.5times high.

I just turned the pot on the back of mine last night (all the way left to start out). I won't be able to plug it in until today though. I'll have to splice my speed wire from the ecu with my turbo timer, and use that to calibrate it.

Confirmed! I turned the pot all the way clockwise and tinkered with it a back and forth until i read about 850 RPM... took it for a drive... what do you know rev limiter hits at just the right spot. (I dont have anything fancy to test it with... but id say the RPM is +/- 100rpm. Judging by the smooth steady idle in the right spot and the rev limiter hitting right where it should...)

Boy that would be awesome if someone could post a pick illustrating where the pots are for the speedo and tach. So does the usdm dohc tach have a pot to adjust? Im a fish outta water on this one

wont work, you need an external device like a gps unit to calibrate the tach as the ecu signal is generated thru the speedo head.
