S13 Wiper Connecting Bar Pops Off

The bar connecting the wiper motor to the wipers under the cowl keeps popping off at the plastic ball joint, obviously causing the wipers to not work. Anybody have a similar problem and/or know how to fix this?

I'm on a business trip in Biloxi and rain is in the forecast, and I have limited tools with me. Any help is very, very greatly appreciated.
