s13 window regulators: not same?

Ok, i got a regulator to replace my broken one, and after laboriously taking out the glass and old regulator, was angered to discover the new one is not at all the same thing. all the mounting point are the same, but the crank position and mechanism is different. on the old one, two cable connected to the crank which was way up by the door hinge. the new one has a gear driven business in the center of the door. even if i put it in, there is no hole in the center of the door. now, the guy told me its from an s13 with manual windows, and i dont know what to think. i left the stupid glass out, so right now the car is still in storage with no window. which doesnt matter. but by spring i need to get this sorted out. btw, the old one also was spring loaded with this pulley thing, allowing the window to be pulled up and down with a hand, and would stay there. well, i kinda fukkered it up and not it isnt spring loaded anymore. thus the window fals into the door at all times. hence why i left the glass out.the old and correct version is on the right
