I bought a manual transmission today, and come to find out, it doesnt have the vehicle speed sensor (vss) in it. Can anyone tell me how much these go for used? I know from advance auto parts theyre around 100$

I got one used for like 10 bucks off my local forum.

Go get one out of a junkyard. They're cake to pull out.

alright ill go to my junkyard and ask for one, figured id be pointed to a junkyard lol

If it still has the cluster intact, take the gear out from the trans and have a friend (or some random dude) sit in the driver's seat.

Spin the gear and if the cluster moves you have a working speed sensor!

i thought the automatic and manual ones were different...but if theyre the same then i can save myself so money for a change

no, i tried when i did my 5 speed swap, the auto speed sensor is different sized. (larger iirc)
