Whats up guys? Im currently stationed in Japan and Im bought to be picking up a 91 Silvia, trading a Subaru plus 3k. I leave in Nov 16 so i can bring a 91 home. Im picking up the Silvia because it will be alot easier to sell/trade for a 300z if I choose to. My plans for either car is DD/autox a couple times a month. Both are great cars and the Z is what i dream of having, car just looks mean stock. The silvia is a sr20det/5 speed, if i was going to get a Z it would be a 2 door/TT/5 speed/TTop. What is the pros/cons of these vehicles? What makes a better DD? What makes a better autox car? Ive been searching online but the comparisons are for a usdm z32 vs a usdm 240sx na. Just want to see what yall think of the 2 cars. Also the type of car im used to/have the most experience with is a 1988 Trans Am WS6 305tpi/700r4 auto, so im used to the heavy feeling cars. Thanks.

I'd go with the S chassis for Auto X stuff, they're a light more nimble and lighter.

The Z32 are a pain in the a** to work on.

Yea ive seen a few z engine bays since ive been here and im like no fun, i just love the way they look and the t tops. But i havent got to drive either one of em yet. Ive seen a lot of s13/14/15 out at the drift track, but havent seen one autox yet. Whats the weight ratio of the two?

Any closer engine pics?

Take a look around the timing covers, valve covers, etc. and see if there's any RTV sealant gooping out. If there is, ask what work had been done.
