I've put one in a Z32, and I've seen piccies of other peoples swaps into S13/14's. It looks like there is more lenght in the S13/14 bays than the Z32 ones. But the Z32 bay is a little wider which makes it easier with the extractors. I can't fit a puller fan on the radiator without using a custom core or cutting the rad support. You will definately need bonnet mods on the Zed too...

If I had to chose an easy car to put a VH in it would be the R33 Skyline. Front sump already, nice long enigne bay and it's reasonably wide. I'm just waiting for my brother in law to blow his RB25 up :p He breaks every other car he has...

i'd say s14 for a nice ballanced car.only reason i put a vh in a s13 was the chassis was dirt cheap...besides that was more of a 'development' project anyways.I wanted to see what the engine was like in an s chassis.

america makes me sad sometimes....

anywho, would you guys say that the swap in the s13/14 would be exactly the same? If not how would they differ? lets just put the old school datsun z on the topic as well...

I'm also interested in cons of putting it in an old z. I have a '75 280z in need of a motor, and have been toying with this idea.

Don't be, they aren't that good They're so common over here, go for about $7-$9k for a stock one, heavily modified ones barely get over $20k.

I can't think of any major issues with a older Z. Don't know how the diffs will take the torque. But if you have a old S30 chuck a 1J or 2J in it

er... Personally, i just want a vh45de in a nissan that's not a boat. I wouldn't mind having any of these cars with the v8 in em, but i would like to know if there was a preferred one, or which one is less annoying to swap into... what would be the pros and cons of each one?

In other words, no 1jz or 2jz for me.... also why would i want an engine from a company that cant make cars that can stop properly? jk
