Hey,

I have an s13, slightly more than mildly modified when it comes to brakes and suspension... however I beg a question over and over again... a question that runs through my mind alot...

Why are there no S13 time attack cars? I see option video, best motoring S14 and S15 time attack cars (INSANELY fast)...

What makes an S14 or S15 a better handling car (if that is true). What kind of factors..

What kind of things could be done to make an S13 as good or better than an S14 or S15 as a time attack car...

I am really curious... its bothersome.. ive had quite a bit invested in my car already, therefore it would suck to go get an S14 or wait a few years to get an S15 or to get an S2000 or something... aaah...

I'm sure it would kill the already no one gives a damn domestic car industry even further (think skyline gtr). Just imagine... ah well This sucks... I want to go faster in corners... more grip, more stiff, more firm, more rigid... I am left with wishful thinking of an FD3S or S2000 chassis

i was always wondering about this myself as well. my only guess is that the General body aerodynamics and where the few extra lbs are applied to throughout the car makes that difference. if you look at the curves in the s13-15 u can notices (mostly on the quarter panel) that the shape of the body is different.

but that's just my guess because i think other than that the cars are pretty muc hte same

hmm.. i think its because s14 and s15s had better engines to start with.

well i am stuck now with what i have, therefore i have to work with it... sooo... it would be nice if people contributed to this thread, people with knowledge on the subject (thanks to sedoken for at least some slight input).

It's not an option to get an S15, as we dont have it, in canada we also dont have the evo... and the rx7 fd3s and s2000 are out of reach for me... so i have my s13 and i do not want to get an s14 lol.

Anywho go on people... i am really curious... I am gona stick with this chassis...

And to the above poster, well from a straight line point of view maybe... but other than that? And the S14 and S13 USDM cars have KAs, not SRs, one CAN swap an SR, CA, even RB, even LS1/LS6...

I am mostly concerned with handling... what makes one so good.

I currently run KYB AGX with s-tech springs set at 3/4 front and 6/8 rear, i used to run 2/4 front and 5/8 rear.. the 3/4 in front makes a huge difference in the tightness of the car... even better braking.

Not to get off topic.. I still beg the question why people chose S14s and successfully make good time attack cars.. and more so the S15 in japan which is well known as a great time attack car...

Wheelbase maybe? The S13 wheelbase is shorter than the S14 or S15... track width? I don't know? Aerodynamics?
