Im sure there has been many threads on this subject but i searched and came up with nothing on this forum.

Im planning on buying a 90-94 s13 or an s14 and i will eventually add forced induction/motor build maybe even both depending on if i go to the air force or not. I just wanted to know which style is the best platform for a daily driver/ occasional drift car.

this will be my first RWD car i plan to learn to drift in, i learned some of the basic concepts in my little FWD Altima (with 216K miles on it- beastly reliability) But its not a real drift.

Please let me know facts and your opinions. : ) thanks for your time all posts are greatly appreciated.

I would say S13, it holds loads of positives for you.

1 - S13's are cheaper, and people get less upset at you for destroying them. (people f*** up drift cars, and destroy the cars they learn to drift in)

2 - S13 is an older car, and it is going to be able to be tagged historic sooner and make forced induction easier from an emissions standpoint

3 - if you crash in an S13 you will be more likely to remove your self from the gene pool, a tough task with today's government always looking out for you... But if that doesnt work, chicks dig scars. A known fact that has gotten me laid many times.

4 - some people think they look cooler

5 - easier to make them look unique to your own taste

That's what I figured the s13 is a lot cheaper where I am but the s14 is the sexyiest theng god put on this planet.

As long as the s13 will last like my altima (216k miles) or my 99 maxima (245k miles) ill be just fine. I beat the s*** out of my altima when I first got it it has almost the same ka24de in it as the 240. The only difference is 5hp and the 240 is rwd.

Thanks for the post : ) anyone else have any openions. S13 is looking like the way to go so far

S14 is safer because of Dual airbags and the major thing. The placement of the fuel tank. The tank in the S13 is behind the rear suspension in front of the rear bumper, (kind of like the pinto). Hopefully it doesn't act like the Pinto in a rear end collision. The tank in the S14 is in front of the rear axle under the rear seat and much better protected in a rear end collision. I bought an S14 because my wife was much happier with the Idea of dual airbags, one on her side at least. I will probably keep both airbags or she may refuse to drive it.
