ok, im going to state right off that i like how the s13 looks much bettr than the s14. i like the flip up lights and the sort of dome shaped top that comes with the hatchback. however, s13's are so damn hard to find, i might break down and get an s14. i know its more expensive, but i jsut cant find a decent s13. heres what will change my mind. whats the real difference? the onyl thing i heard was that the s14 was heavier, but is anything built differently or better? if theres no major positive change, then ill just keep looking for my s13

I don't really think there is any big differences. I think S14's are OBD-II. Also, they have different cams (232/232 compared to the S13's 240/248). But it is relatively easy to find a set of S13 cams to throw in.

Get what you want plain and simple....and what you can afford. The only good thing about the s13 are parts are easier to find at junkyards as opposed to s14s. Styling in and out s14s came with 5lugs on se's for s13s you must upgrade.S13s have that dreaded pinch me stock seat..s14 seats are nicer,S14s are less prone to finding rust.. seen a handfull of s13s with that on the strut towers, frame rails,trunk/spoiler eats metal..95s were obd1 some obd2 parts but not fully complient until 96.Engines are basically the same minimal difference..Yes the s14 is heavier as its longer overall, has more interior, rear deck for speakers.

Yea... You cant really find a decent priced S14 much around here either, but iv'e seen a whole bunch of Fastbacks around just sitting there, not even being driven. Theres at least 4 within 5 miles of my house. When I was looking for a car I originally looked for a fastback, but was lucky enough to come across a 95 in near perfect condition for cheaper then most s13's ive found.

I think the major diffrences were pretty much already listed. Umm, s14's all came with power windows and dual airbags, thats about the only thing i can add here.

I agree that the s13 hatch is pretty schweet lookin, but I almost wish I waited and got a zenki. The s13's come with their problems, which is the main reason I should have waited for a s14 or something. On pure aesthetics though, I <3 RPS13

Heyyyy, S14's come with problems too ya know... :Looks-wise, so many people have mistaken my Zenki for a first gen Integra so many times.... But alot of people mistake my freinds 93 240 Hatch for a Probe, so I dunno.

AHAHAHHAHAHA s13's hard to find. Go find a s14 kouki, I am here in Florida, and there was 1 kouki within 100 miles of me, about 25 zenki's and about the same of s13 (not coupe)

really? I see s14's allot here. 99 percent of them are auto's driven by older wemon who dont seem to care what they drive. Matter of a fact, I have only seen 2 modified s14's around here. I see a 97+ quite often. I would ask them if they wanted to sell it but all the ones I see are auto's...*shrugs

This is of corse, just what I see around where I live. I dont go to car meets/get together ect ect where you would see more modified examples.

I see a lot of Zenki S14s, a bajillion S13 fastbacks, fewer S13 coupes, and only a handful of Kouki S14s.

Funny thing about the 13 fastbacks though...even though they appear to be everywhere, there aren't a million for sale, and the ones that are for sale are EXPENSIVE.

A sub-100k fastback 5spd is inching up towards the $5000 mark around here.

Down here most of the 100k and up 5spds are about 5 grand now. Well, this is in so-cal with its super inflated car prices and all. What I dont like though is how all these punk kids are buying them up though (mostly the cheaper, more beaten up 89-90's). Its really bad down here with all these kids thinking they can be all pro drifters and evreything and buying up perfectly fine cars that they will probably crash within a year.

S14s are way to expensive now. 7k for a 120k 95 5spd? WTF?

There is a 97 black SE for $5,500 and a 95 white base for $2,000 for sale near me. Both auto's but hey, cheap is cheap. Another 95 black base with 5 speed just sold for $3000. I guess nobody but me wants 240's in my area :P

There is also always a bagillion s13 convertables for sale from 3000-5000...

Up in CA, got damn...prices for S14's are OUTRAGEOUS....i was lucky enough to buy my S14 for $5500...there are zillions of S13 coupe and fastbacks around here and S14's are rare....i barely see any. Prices are indeed going up for 240's especially for 240's. Also that Trueno or AE86 car is poppin up also. I've seen some Honda Accord trying to look like that also....what a shame.....

tipota,

keep in mind that while both are based around the KA engine and both are of course 240sx'es, they drive pretty differently. I would really reccomend test driving one of each and deciding which you like better. I wanted a S14 over a S13 for a long time but once I drove each, I gotta say I like the feel of the S13 MUCH better, so thats what I got. The car fits me like a glove... I didnt feel the same at all in the S14.

You're from Boston? Where at? I lived on the corner of Mass Ave and Beacon St (right next to the mass ave bridge on the Boston side) for 3 years while going to school....

I cant believe S13's are that hard to find. My advice is to be patient and it'll find you

I just checked Autotrader for a couple of CA zip codes, Koukis don't seem to really be much more expensive out there than they are here.

98 5spd SE's going for $10,000 or a bit more, that's average for around here. I paid $9800 for a 5spd LE.
