S13 vs. S14 Speed Sensor Voltages

I need to know a couple of things about the s13 vs s14 speed sensors. First, is there any voltage difference between the two (will they both produce the same results at the same speed)? Second, I'm currently using an s14 speed sensor in an s13 sr20det transmission on my s14 240sx but the sensor is going bad. I need to replace it and I happen to have an extra s13 speed sensor (that hopefully works). Both the s13 and s14 sensors are 2 wire sensors but they of course have different plugs. Are they the same in such a way that I can cut the plug off my s14 harness and the s13 plug and hardwire the two and have everything work out? Thanks.

the signal pulse rate is different the S. 14 speedometer will be reading twice as fast as your actual speed , this'll mean when you're doling 50 you're speedometer's will say you're going 100. Are you sure your speedometer hasn't gone bad I have probably replaced speedometer's a rate of 100 to every 1 speed sensor. You can use your the S13 to test your speedometer just about plug in the to wire connector for your speed sensor and rotate it by hand you can spend fast enough to make it read a speed.

I got everything all fixed up. Thanks for the info on the different pulse rates. I knew it was the sensor because my speedometer and my boost controller were both reading zero so it had to be the signal. I ended up getting another sensor from the junkyard and everything is back to normal. Thanks again.

Sorry to thread jack, but I have a similar question. I just got my 5 speed swap done, and used an s13 transmission into my s14 and like you said, my speedo says I'm doing double what I'm really doing. The other thing I'm noticing is that I think my trip and odometer seem to be turning faster, maybe I'm crazy but is possible? if I get an s14 sensor, will it be a direct fit w/ my s13 trans? I"m still using the s14 auto ecu.
